In your opinion, what are the best American made pickup trucks? Both half ton and quarter ton. Also, who makes the best American diesel?
Clarification: Best in terms of what? Are you only talking about new trucks (2021 model year)?
I've never heard of quarter ton trucks. You mean 3/4 ton?
Scotty made this point, earlier, in discussing trucks. Most of the 20th Century behemoths, such as GM/Chevy, import trucks almost entirely made in Mexico and/or even China. And many so-called "foreign brands," such as Toyota's Tacoma, have been long largely assembled in U.S. plants, such as the one in San Antonio.
On the whole, Scotty's position, if I understand it well, is that the traditional U.S. firms (such as Ford and GM) made far better trucks fifteen years ago. Here's a couple of videos:

Standard Duty: Toyota Tundra
Heavy Duty: Ford F-250
Diesel: Ford F-250
I’m going to start with diesel
12 valve Cummins W/ a manual
6.7 Cummins
6.6 LBZ Duramax
7.3 Powerstroke
6.7 Powerstroke
Gas
99 and below Ford/ Chevy
Newer models I’m really on the fence about but I lean more towards the 17 and below F150 5.0 V8.
toyata tundra
Scotty in his videos shows a preference for Ford trucks if talking late-model domestic U.S. products.
For half-ton trucks if we are talking about just in the last 6 years (so going back to model year 2015), then for longevity it comes down to only the Toyota Tundra and Ford F-150 (and for the Ford F-150 it comes down to only model years 2015-2017 with the 2nd Gen 5.0 Coyote V8 and 6-speed AT; forget about the Ecoboost versions, the Gen 3 5.0 Coyote V8 and the 10-speed AT). For reliability and longevity, the Tundra will have the edge over the F-150, but for towing (especially loads nearing 10,000 lbs) and work truck the F-150 has the edge.
For 3/4-ton the best is the Ford F-250 (with 6.2L gas V8 and 6-speed AT).
I'll take an American made Tacoma or Tundra over American brands made in foreign countries.
Ford does not make any of their F-series trucks in foreign countries... they are all manufactured in Dearborn Michigan
Ooh even better!
