AT jerks when putting it into D or R

My 07 accord with about 130000 miles jerks when I engage drive or reverse. By jerk I mean the rpms go up a little bit then simmer back down. Kind of like a hiccup. Shifts great while actually driving. What could this be?

something is worn out and causing delayed clutch engagement.

A transmission shop would be able to diagnose it

Ok, that was the next step if I couldn’t find an easy fix here. I preciate your time.

Does the car have a trans sip stick, and have you checked the fluid level?  has it ever been changed?

I noticed this issue started happening about a month ago. That’s when I checked the dipstick and it was a good level, a lil dirty. I don’t have any of the maintenance records from the previous owner and I’ve had the car for about 10000 miles so I decided to flush it. It functions just as it did before I did that. I’m a first time car owner so any info helps.

when you say flush, did you have a shop flush it, or just drain and fill the fluid? flushing can cause transmision issues depending on the age of the car.

I’ll keep that in mind for the future. I asked for a flush at a shop, however the issue started before I did it. It’s still happening, no better, no worse.
