Is there anything that can be done regarding one of the most ridiculous features I’ve ever encountered on a vehicle? I have a 2020 Ford Escape, but I imagine Ford engineers have programmed this into nearly all of their units with automatic transmissions.
If your vehicle is in reverse and you open the door to see if there’s anything in that blind spot in the area of your lower left quarter panel the parking brake is activated. This defeats your ability to perform this function and is generally one of the most stupid functions ever incorporated into a vehicle in my opinion. I don’t recall any clamor whatsoever for an option (apparently mandatory) like this.
Thanks,
Bill
Have you checked your manual to see if there is a way to disable it? I know on my 2020 Toyota it is possible.
