The Hood struts on my 2015 F150 with 175k miles have worn out and i have to use a broom stick to prop the hood. Are the aftermarket options worth the price or should I just get raped by the dealership for OEM ones?

Take one of the old ones to a parts store and match it exactly for size and load rating. Forget OEM.

I purchased "StrongArm" brand on Amazon for my Sentra trunk 5 years ago.
Haven't had any problems yet.

I suspect they might get pricey, in that case just get the "locks" which clip onto the chrome rod. Should only be a couple bucks.

I’ve used Stabilus on my Toyota. When I went to remove the OEM ones, it was branded Stabilus.
