This is my first time doing anything timing related and am currently stuck on how to fix my out-of-time engine. My current problem is that my engine is out of time and I don't have a clue where to start to get it back in time. For starters, I did mark the new belt with a marker on both cam gears and counted the teeth between. 18 teeth apart for each mark which is the correct amount. What part I didn't mark was the crank gear to ether the old belt or block. So I don't know how to mark the new belt correctly or align it. The only thing I marked was the crank pully and the lower timing cover. I didn't put the pully on while I was doing the belt. I don't know if this would have helped or how I can use the pully to align the belt. With this situation, I went through with putting the belt on the engine. I aligned the two marks on the belt to the gears and put the rest of the belt on the engine. It took a few tries to get the belt on, and for the fist few the belt had some slack. Hence why I would retry putting the belt on. On the final attempt, there was a good amount of tension on the belt with out the tensioner being released. So I assumed it was good to go and pulled the pin to tension the belt with the pully. Then I proceeded to turn the engine over by hand by turning the crank bolt clockwise. I turned it once till the marks were back at the top of the engine, but they were not anywhere close to being aligned to the markings on the gears. This panicked me a bit and I assumed I must keep turning the engine and they would eventually align. So I ended up turning the engine over for a good while. They never aligned and the closest they got was being two teeth apart to the left on both gears. At this point I'm at a lost. I hoped that since they were off by two teeth on both sides that it was aligned inside somehow but not aligned to the belt. I proceeded to put the lower timing cover and crank pully on to see where the mark would be and it wasn't even close to where it was before. I don't know what to do now. I don't know how to align the crank to TDC and align the cams. Or which piston to put to TDC to start aligning them. IF that's even what I'm supposed to do now. I took four pictures of where the engines at right now with the lower timing cover on timing wise.

For the crank pully, it was aligned to the 5 degrees mark with white marker. I just marked over it with yellow to have new paint. All of this was before I had even removed the bolt for the first time for the pully so it was aligned how it was when it was running and in the car. Same for the yellow marks on the cam gears. So they weren't marked out of time to begin with. and the crank pully is keyed so it can only go in one way.
You are probably going to have to take off the valve cover and confirm #1 piston at top dead center by making sure the rocker arms are resting on the bottom of the cams (not the high point) and the pulley mark is pointing at zero. Then properly install the belt.
