Recently had the front and rear struts replaced on my 2004 Toyota Avalon by a shop that specializes in Toyota repair, maintenance and modifications (off-roading). They recommended KYB brand and after having heard about KYB on this site, I felt comfortable with that decision. Toyota OEM struts were very expensive though they would probably be more true to the original ride quality. The KYB's may be a little stiffer but it is difficult to accurately compare as the old ones were the 19 year old originals and were worn accordingly. Plus I live in California now and the roads here are much rougher than in North Carolina where I previously drove this car. I am not sure if even new Toyota struts would ride smoothly here. Overall I am happy with the KYB's and the vehicle sits fine as they used the original springs.
