Bleeding Brakes Necessary?

Topic starter

I removed the caliper assembly, with the brakes, to remove the knuckle.  Upon reinstallation of the caliper assembly, is it necessary to bleed the brakes, if I didn't even touch the brakes at all?

@kaizen
If you are careful and do not leak brake fluid anywhere you might not need to bleed brakes. It would be a good idea to "gently" check brakes after reinstalling. Sometimes you shove fluid out the master cylinder or even break another hose at another wheel. As always double check your work before patting yourself on the back.

GTK. Thank you.

I don’t think so.

@yaser
Thanks!

It depends on what you mean by "remove". If you don't disconnect the brake lines, then you don't need to bleed the system.

@mountainmanjoe
Brake lines fully attached! Well, I detached the harnesses, but never the line itself. Thank you!
