Blend Door for Heater is stuck!

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2010 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L. Was driving the car in the winter and running the heat. When a felt a little warm, I turned the temperature control toward the cold position for a few minutes. When I went to turn it back, there was a light clunking noise from the dash and the air remained cold. I have since removed the blend door actuator, and confirmed that the two blend doors are stuck; the door that allows air to pass across the heater core as well as the door that allows air to pass across the air conditioner coil. I tried to use a small snake camera to see inside the ductwork, but have not had any success seeing an obstruction. Do you have any suggestions? Do you have any connections you have made who have experience disassembling the cabin ductwork? I wish I knew someone who works on Hyundai and Kia vehicles, but most of my connections are more familiar with GM vehicles. Hope to get the heat to work again before next winter, else I might have to sell it to someone in the Florida Keys!

Thank you for your time, and keep the videos coming!

Yeah it's a pain in the ass working on those door actuators. And you don't know if the actuator is broken or the control unit is broken telling it to stay one way or the other the other way you can really work on those systems with a very high-tech scan tool where you can do bi-directional testing otherwise it's all just educated guesswork. Yeah they make them that stupid but that's all cars are these days
