I got a 2008 525d and when I accelerate semi-hard around the 5th gear it goes into limp mode and says to get the transmission checked. Turn the car off and on again, and it’s fine. The only codes I get is for all 6 glow plugs and the glow plug control module, so could that cause the problem?

Problem is it's a complex BMW the only way you can work on those things with the dealer level scan computer and a lot of knowledge. From from my experience of that Johnny means the transmission is breaking down in 5th gear
