Botched transmission fluid job

I have a 2016 hinda crv. I recently had an indicator to change fluid on transmission, so I had a shop do so. Now it slips when coming from a stop, most recently it started making a whining noise. Shop is saying I need a new transmission. Should I just add fluid to see if it fixes the pressure issue? What should I use?

How many miles on it? That vehicle has a CVT. If it's slipping and noisy it most likely needs to be replaced. That would need to be confirmed by a good transmission technician using a fancy scan tool that can read transmission data.

Fluid level is critical in CVTs, unless the fluid is low don't add any more, that will just create more problems. There is no additive that will help a slipping CVT even temporarily. Although not as bad as the horrendous Jatco CVTs used by Nissan and some others it looks like Honda transmission problems are not unknown:

What indicator exactly did you see?
