I recently purchased a 2019 Toyota RAV4 LE with automatic transmission bought at Toyota Dealership.
My previous car, a Honda Civic, became unreliable and broke down so I went on the hunt for a new to me used car since I have over an hour commute one way.
The RAV4 has only been serviced at Toyota as far as I am aware.
Car has around 85,300K Miles on it.
I'm currently looking to get a transmission fluid change done. A drain and fill, not a flush (as I've heard the flush can stir up debris).
Is this the right thing to do?
Is it too late to do that?
I am going to try to go to Тoyota and have them do it so the transmission fluid remains the same type/one.
My goal is to push this vehicle to 300,000 miles — even if that’s ambitious.
As far as I am aware that newer Toyotas are not as good as they used to be. However I want to get as much out of this car as I can especially since I still owe over 10 grand on it.
I know scotty advises doing it yourself however I am unsure how to go about this on my specific model as I am not very good with cars and I don't want to break anything.
Any advice/a gameplan and things I should do would be amazing!
I am a woman in her 20's just trying to figure out what to do.

Can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
The site FAQ goes into this issue in detail so you (and the thousands of others who have asked about trans fluid changes) can make an informed decision.
You would be better served finding a good independent mechanic to service your vehicle rather than go to the dealer for anything other than recalls or warranty work.
