I usually get Semi-metallic pads. I have a question about using ceramic pads. I get that Ceramic Pads last longer. From a chart, I see that Semi-Metallic pads have better stopping power than Ceramic pads. Semi-Metallic are noisier. Ceramic Pads have less dust than Semi-Metallic Pads. My concern is wearing the rotor faster. I generally use semi-metallic pads. Question is should I be using ceramic or Semi-metallic pads.
Are you driving mainly on the track? And do you drive a high performance vehicle?
If your answer to both the above questions is no, listen to the Imperator & buy yourself good quality brake pads which are suitable for your usage.
Scotty recommends using Akebono brake pads.
well, which of those things is most important to you? Don't forget to factor in price.
Rotor wear isn't a concern for most people . They're cheap and they usually get replaced well before they wear out.
Ceramic pads can wear the rotors faster and they are for stopping at high speeds (track driving). For normal driving, you do not need to use them.
