I have a 2012 Prius (81000 miles). When the car is OFF, I can push the brake pedal all the way to the floor. Recently, I had the ABS replaced because of ABS, Brake, and Skid lights. ($1700) After this repair, I asked about the brake pedal all the way to the floor and he said that it stops on a dime, there is now no code, and no warning lights. Is it safe as is? What causes this when the car is off?
I’ve heard this complaint before. And as long as it stops ok when driving I wouldn’t worry about it. I actually haven’t worked on one but I’ve had several techs and the dealer tell me it’s brake by wire because of the electric regen and stopping capability’s along with it’s hill hold feature using the electric motors instead of the gas engine.
Sounds like a bad booster.
