Which one will be less of a money-pit in terms of maintenance and repairs?

Definitely the gt86/BRZ

The GT86/BRZ and Miata would be the most reliable sports cars on the market. Focus ST not so much. The Focus has a turbo, which adds low end torque but adds a lot of wear and tear (and repair cost).
The lack of turbo on the GT86/BRZ means you have to drive it at higher RPM, which puts you around the infamous torque dip for much of your driving; I didn't notice it on my test drive, but I imagine you would if you bought one. But other than that, it is a great little car that is fun to drive and should hold its value well.
