Should I change my transmission fluid?

I have a 2019 buick enclave premium AWD with 240k.  Not sure on the service history of it but the transmission started to slip between 50 and 60 mph.  With so many miles on it, would it be plausible to do a fluid change to see if that would help or would it make things worse?

it is far too late for preventive maintenance. The transmission is at the end of its life and beginning to fail. The clutches are worn out and rubbing metal on metal. Like used up brake pads. A fluid change won't magically restore them.

You could try some clean fluid with some of that anti-slip friction modifier, but at this point it's a craps shoot. Either way, you need to prepare for the transmission giving up and leaving you stranded any time. It's done.

disclaimer: this is internet advice and should be taken as such. I did not run diagnostics on your vehicle, I did not inspect you transmission, or the fluid, or test drive it. This is a best guess based on available information. Always consult a professional for complete diagnosis.

See the site FAQ for details on the issues of changing transmission fluid. The short answer is if the fluid has never been changed in 240K miles it's time to either spend thousands on a remanufactured transmission or start shopping for another car. (For full details on evaluating the condition of your fluid and courses of action see the FAQ.)
