I got 07 scion with 170,000 mile that burns oil. I commute to work around 100 miles a day. I use Castrol Edge Synthetic 5w -20 for the entire life of the car. Should I used an additive to the oil so it quit burning oil. I know Scotty not big believer in additives but let me know whether I should bite the oil cost for the car. {black}:excitement:
If it's actually burning that much oil it would look like a mosquito fogger going down the road. Are you sure it's not leaking out somewhere?
Try replacing the pcv valve, but it sounds like your rings are shot.
I replaced the pcv valve and evap light is still on. There no black exhaust coming from car but it does burn oil. The head gasket appears not to have any oil around it that is leaking.
