Ford transmission shifting issues

I have a 2015 Ford escape with a 2 L turbo all-wheel-drive. It has 87,869 miles. I’ve had it just over a year and I’m having issues with the transmission shifting properly. I called the Ford dealership, and apparently this transmission does not have a replaceable filter. I do not find a dipstick up top so that I can check the level of the transmission fluid either. I’m wondering if Ford makes an additive or if there is an additive out there you trust that could possibly help me extend the life of this transmission until I can save up to purchase a used one. Can’t afford a reman and I already work at a junkyard so I’m gonna have to go with a used one. Again, I’m just wondering if there is any kind of additives or something I could use that might help. Thank you for your time. Thank you for any answers that you may provide. God bless you, sir

You check it from underneath. Has the transmission been serviced? At that mileage the fluid should have been changed at least once.

Snake oil additives rarely do anything good. Some have reported temporary success with Lucas transmission additive.

You're likely to wind up with the same problem. Those vehicles are known for bad transmissions. Note the top problem area by a wide margin:

You can also expect engine problems as Ford's EcoBoost engines have a poor reputation for reliability and longevity.

You should consider taking your vehicle to a transmission expert for diagnosis. (Not a dealer or chain shop.) If you're lucky the problem may be something repairable without replacing or rebuilding the entire transmission.

Sadly to be expected…

I called the Ford dealership,

I would take what they say with a grain of salt.. Sometimes the people in the dealership are struggling with misfires in their brains.

Most of the additives out there are snake oil for an old car that you want to get a little more life out of it. Your choice is either rebuild, replace the tranny, or junk the car.

@fishingandcarsenthusiast123 🤣 misfire in the brain. I'm stealing that expression. Gives new meaning to "blown head gasket".

@imperator exactly haha thanks..My mechanic came up with the saying and now I started using it too.
