I need to clean up my 98 saturn sc2 with 205k miles to pass smog. I went ahead and ordered some ATS cleaner, but it is taking a while. On the counter, I saw some Gumout fuel injection cleaner for $6 for two, so I'm trying that out. I figure if it doesn't damage my engine, it doesn't hurt to try.
I have seen a bunch of reviews saying that it's good, but is it just in their heads or something?

The PEA-based fuel system cleaners are good, though per Scotty probably not as good as the ATS product. The one I see used most of the time is Techron, but Gumout is also PEA-based.

The bottle is different, but hopefully it is just because they wanted to minimize cost and didn't cheap out on the actual product
