- Piston rings replaced
- Oil cooler seal(s) replaced
- Engine timing/front cover gasket replaced
- Oil and filter changed
- Maintenance reminder reset

if I took it to dealer for engine check before buying is it a good idea?

I would never buy any flooded salvage car. Too many problems can crop up especially it was flooded in salt water like hurricane Sandy
The thing with flooding is, you never really know the full extent of the damage that might have been done to the car, or when it might manifest itself. There could be fine silt or other debris in the electronics, corrosion building in the wiring, etc.
And if it was salt water flooding, that's a whole 'nother level of potential trouble.
If the car were only a couple grand, and it was going to be a project/toy, it might be worth it. But at $23K, I personally would stay far away.
Thank you for the information
