Hello Scotty, Hello guys, so there's a Mazda 626 GF 2.0Gas Engine(Europe Model) for sale and the owner is just asking for 400$. The problem is that he said he lost all of the keys of the car, so the car cannot be started. The paperwork is fine, it's not a stolen car. Now my question is if I can get a key made for the car even though there is no original key available, also I belive thay these cars use chips in them, so maybe a Mazda Dealer or an automotive locksmith can make one, or I thought that if I can get the ignition and the keys of a junkyard car and fit it to this car but maybe the ecu or immobilizer won't recognize it, I don't know, I don't understand these things very so I am sorry if I did any mistake. If you guys know something I can do, I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance! Good day! 👍🙂

You’d have better luck going to a locksmith than the dealer. The dealer usually just basically calls the locksmith in to do the work, and charges you a middle man fee for calling the locksmith.

strange. Check the title and make sure it's not stolen

the car cannot be started.

do not buy cars that you cannot test drive

Check with a locksmith to see whether they can make you a key under those conditions. Some cars need the entire security module replaced if there are no working keys available.

Thanks !

@rafaellourenco21 - However, as @imperator points out it is foolish to buy a car you cannot test drive. How do you know the thing even runs?
