Hi y'all,
It has come down to Toyota or Honda. Should I buy a 2020 RAV4 XLE AWD or CRV EX AWD? I have only ever owned Toyotas and Lexus. Should I make the switch to Honda?
@potato
I recently happened to test drive both of the cars. My sister planned on buying it. I would honestly go for the RAV4. We test drove the AWD hybrid version and it was amazing. Suspension glided over potholes and speedbreakers. Tech is great in both cars and that boils down to how you spec it. I found the interior of the CRV a little more good looking and both were comfortable.
Idk if you would go for that hybrid, it makes a strange sound all the time backing up and driving on pure electricity. Little weird for me tbh. The salesman said that the RAV 4 had more mileage than any other suv but that is subjective. Steering feel was like dead in the RAV4. I stepped out of bmw 328i and trust me, it felt like I was holding nothing. CRV had a slight weight and you could feel it.
Go for the Toyota unless you're getting an absolute steal deal kinda thing on the CRV.
RAV4's are just selling like pancakes. The salesman told us "The RAV you're driving right now would be gone in the next 2 days for sure." They're selling like crazy and reason why no discounts are on the RAV4 and dealerships might even sell up on marked up prices.
Get the Toyota. It will last longer.
They are both very good and very similar vehicles. It mostly comes down to personal choice here.
Hondas are a bit sportier if you like that. The Toyota rides nicer. I personally think Toyotas look kinda goofy and the engines on the new ones (turbo) are very loud.
Spend some time test driving both of them and just see which feels better.
Oh yeah and pay attention to the seats. This is important if you're using your car every day. For example the Toyota seats are contoured and they're too narrow for my broad shoulders so they kind of fold me in half. Not very comfortable.
YES STAY WITH HONDA AVOID AWD AS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
