Should I buy a 2006 Toyota Highlander hybrid with 230,000 miles?

I am looking at a used highlander with 230000 miles. I decided to sell my f150 and it sold way faster than expected. I need something I can tow a small kayak trailer with and I love the option of the 3rd row. Not that I’ll use it much but it’s there. I guess I’m looking for peace of mind. I’ve watched a ton of tour videos and I know you like the Toyotas. I’ve had a sequoia in the past and loved it. I just want your opinion on if the highlander is a good choice. Records are available as well and it appears to be well taken care of. I appreciate the input.

I forgot to mention it’s the hybrid model as well. I waiting to hear if the batteries have ever been replaced

I’d recommend you avoid buying a used hybrid with >200,000 miles. Especially if it has a reconditioned hybrid battery, and not a brand new one from Toyota.

If you must have it, take @doc ‘s advice.

Thanks for the input.

Could be a very expensive purchase, all things considered.  If you really like it and the service records check out and a mechanic checks it out as goo, offer them $2500.

How much is it? Depending on the price and if it checks out it could be okay.

They are asking 5000 for it, I forgot to mention it’s the hybrid model as well. I waiting to hear if the batteries have ever been replaced.
