Looking to get my wife a used vehicle, I want her to get a Highlander but she wants something fancier, we have rounded it down to these (I put my foot down and said Lexus or Acura only) IS 250 AWD , GS 350 AWD, NX 200T, or Acura RDX, looking newer used under 50,000 miles, I want the car that will be the most reliable, we want AWD because we live in MN and snow sucks
For most reliable, go Lexus!
Scottys opinion on both -
For longevity and better (more reliable) AWD system, go with the Lexus over the Acura. Also, MY2013-2018 Acura RDX had the 3.5L V6 with cylinder deactivation (what Acura calls VCM) which is susceptible to engine wear/potential damage over time. Of the remaining 3, for longevity and fewer issues it’s better to stick to a naturally aspirated engine versus turbocharged so that leaves you with the IS350 and GS350. Of those two, go with the GS350 as it is more comfortable and has a better interior.
