The Sequoia is a better SUV no doubt. As mentioned, the GMC does have AFM which can cause issues with the motor, especially as it ages.

What’s the price on that Yukon? Beware of the cylinder deactivation system which will wear out the engine a lot faster. I’d pass and get a Toyota Sequoia as it’ll outlast the GMC by far and it doesn’t have that system in the GM.

Price is 22000

That’s a little too pricey for that truck. I’d pass and get a Sequoia. Find the best deal on Sequoia, have an independent mechanic check it and you’re good.

I would pass on it.  Besides the electronics giving out on you (electrical gremlins GM is known for), you also have to deal with the cylinder deactivation (or Active Fuel Management, AFM) which can wear out/damage the engine over time.  It might already be on its last legs for all we know, if the previous owner did not disable or eliminate AFM.  The cylinder deactivation in those LS-based engines is a deal breaker for me, unless you have several thousand dollars set aside for potential repairs/engine replacement down the line.  But who wants to deal with that?  I would just walk away.

Websites from owners the truck has a reliability 4.6 out of 5.. saids it is a solid truck

Can be for the right price if it checks out and was well cared for. But I'd stay away from the AWD since it's not switchable like a normal 4x4. If 2WD works for you that great because less to break. 2013 the 5.3 was still LS based V8 so they're pretty good engines. Just amazes me how a company can make good engines and build them with sub-par everything else around them. Wish I still had our 2002 Tahoe 4x4, they still made them good back then, had 245k miles on it and still going strong but our needs changed so we let it go.

Although that engine (LY5) has AFM which is a deal breaker for me.

Yes...but AFM can be tuned to turn that off.

But the AFM hardware is still intact. I view it as a mitigation step, not a full proof solution. And then if previous owner never turned it off and you are now buying used second hand, even more of a liability. The solenoids in the AFM Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly can still potentially leak and you can still get a glitch in the I/O command going to the system inadvertently turning on the system at the wrong time.

But I did my internet research and find that truck has a reliability 4.6 out of 5 .. all sites aware in models 2007 , 2011 and the worst 2015.. 2013 v8 6.2 liter comments from owners saids it is a very solid truck
