I'm interested in either a 2018 or so Cadillac XT5 or a Lincoln Nautilus from Carmax. They are about the same price and at my price point puts them at around 70,000 miles. Can you recommend one over the other, or should I spend the extra money and look at an Acura MDX instead?

Go for the Acura MDX. It's a glorified Honda. GM makes subquality cars and they charge a premium for them. If the Lincoln has an EcoBoost engine, forget about it as well. Ford quality overall has gone really downhill for a while now.
Cadillac and Lincoln ain’t what they used to be. I’d go for the MDX, or look into a similar car from Lexus like an RX
