My Cadillac CTS battery always dies. New alternator has been put in. Also car idles rough and revs on its own. To keep car started after turning key I have to step on the gas . Any suggestions?

For the battery, it sounds like you may have a parasitic drain somewhere that you need to track down.
That should help you out on how to track it down. As for the stalling, you should check the fuel filter and make sure it is not clogged. If it isnt, you need to check for a vacuum leak. Take a good look at all of the hoses and plastic lines under the hood and make sure none of them are cracked or dry rotted.
I would start with those and move forward as necessary.
