Your Dream Frankenstein Car

Consider you could put together any branded components from any make/model/year, into any car body.  What Frankenstein automobile would you put together?

*Components meaning: engine, transmission, alternator, brakes, struts, exhaust, battery, turbo, etc... even ball joints if you want to get the detailed.

For some odd reason from some Frankenstein like music I listened to a few years back, I always thought of this as a "Frankenstein" car

The Sprinter van

I know I'm not creative;(

In fact it is pretty lame but I just get that spooky feel from it. Might as well add a German transmission and diesel engine and specifically HAS to be in black

You know, I’ve been eyeing those sprinters lately, they seem to be really popular these days.

I know I like them a lot as well especially because it has a lot of configurations. Officially, Cargo Van, Crew Van, Passenger Van, Cab Chasis, with 4 cylinder gas, 6 cylinder diesel, 4 cylinder diesel, or 6 cylinder diesel 4X4. There is also a 12 passenger or 15 passenger choise. You can pick how high the roof is and payload. It is a nice concept. Also btw the Sprinter is absolutely excellent compared to the awful Metris van. The Benz Metris is horrible. I just want to put that out there.

I have too many. Lol. But this would likely be what I would build for myself if I hit the lottery or something and assuming I could make it fit:

1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Color: Silver w/Black Stripes

Engine: Ford 5.8L Shelby 1000HP Package

Transmission: Fully Built T-56

Brakes: Wilwood Big Brake Kit

Exhaust: Borla full stainless

Suspension: Full Billstein

Maybe one day. Tough part of my job is getting to build someone else's dream car every day but not being able to build my own. {black}:excitement:

Though I do keep my little Camaro tucked away in the back of the shop. {black}

You build cars for a living?! Fun!

It is fun I have to say. It is nice to have my own shop and be my own boss. Working on all the fancy cars we get in (a lot of Italians, etc.) is fun. Figuring out how to make stuff fit and work together is fun. I built engines for GM for over a decade and while it was good work, I always wanted to get more into the custom side of things because that is what I have tinkered with my whole life. Now I do it every day. Though I couldn't accomplish any of it without my team obviously. We all have fun, but we also get the work done and that's pretty much my definition of the perfect working environment.

You're lucky. I've always wanted to own a shop just working on classics

Yeah I get a few classics here and there. Neat to see some of the ones you don't get to see outside of a Barrett-Jackson auction.

There are quite a few.. I've wanted to build a sleeper for  quite awhile.. something not that popular to modify, like a scion xb box, put a honda k20 motor, turbo , with a 5 spd. Something you wouldn't see again. And still have room under the hood to work on it. My dream car, in general woul be a 57 chevy bel air,  with a 350 in it . blue black rag top, white and blue interior, american racing rims, dual flowmasters,

That k20!!! Nice.

2004 Mercury Grand Marquis GS

Naturally Aspirated 4-rotor 26B

Quad exhaust shaped like triangles

18" white wall tires

2012 Mazda 3 Sky blue paint

4 sets of earplugs for passengers 🤣

Manual transmission

Same platform as the crown Vic?

Yeah, but the Grand Marquis has a special place in my heart right next to that rev happy rotary. I just want to hear the scream under the hood of an all American land yacht and watch all the heads turn. Except for anyone who watches Rob Dahm.

At this moment...

Engine: Toyota 2JZ-GE I6, Naturally Aspirated

Transmission: ZF6 - Manual

Body: Lamborghini 350 GT

Edit: I forgot to mention, alongside the Toyota engine would be a FreeValve “camshaft”. How’s that for a Frankenstein car?!

I am currently having this dream build in mind for my current car , still learning about ever component of vehicles but I want to put the new  Ford 7.3 Godzilla v8 in my chevy impala with a strong Aisin Transmission or Toyotas transmission supplier, I would have to make it to where it has about a inch and half to inch wider stance with brand new suspension from a high quality supplier and just overall upgrading the entire steering and control system of the car, and upgrading the exhaust with some nice flow masters, still doing my research for a final idea but it would be my reliable sleeper XD.

Whoa!

lol thank you!

I would like a Jaguar F type Chassis and suspension with C5 Corvette Z06 engine with a supercharger on it, with a zf 8 hp automatic transmission, with Lexus LC 500 interior and electronics.

And the previous gen F type look too of course.

And Brembo brakes, c5 corvette z06 titanium exhaust. Michelin PS4S tires, bm Idrive infotainment, and anti roll bars an LSD,

This answer is amazing. Truly a Frankenstein car.

Thank you!
