2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Throttle Control

Hi Scotty,

I have an 08 Jeep GC 4.7L, Automatic, with 110k miles. When I stop for between 3 and 10 seconds my throttle control light comes on as well as my traction control light. When this happens the engine idles rough. Stop amd restart and I can make it to the next stop light before it happens again usually. Sometimes as I'm going down the road, the same lights come on, but the engine doesn't get unstable. Usually, I put it in neutral and coast as I stop the engine and make sure the engine is not turning before I start it again and put it back in drive. Any suggestions. I will be buying a cigar to check for vacuum leaks {black}

If you are getting lights, have a local auto parts store scan the codes and post them here. That will narrow down the issue as just the lights themselves could mean any number of things from "no worries" to "ruh roh Shaggy".

Code read the other day pointed to throttle body gasket. I had already ordered a throttle body so waited to get that. Got it changed and had the same problem, hence why I asked.

Update smoke comes out at EGR valve
