Hello! I have a 2017 Camaro LT 3.6 manual. It had electric power steering. The steering changes with drive mode. Sometimes the steering feels normal, but others it is way too light, almost like it hadn’t stiffened up after getting up to speed. Feels like it’s over boosted, even though it’s electric steering. Happens at random, more likely if accelerating quickly. No one has helped me. Thanks!
Well those systems do break down. Since it has variable steering, I would advise finding a guy like me with a fancy scan tool to look at the data while he's driving it around and see what they actually happening. It could be that it's boosting it too much when it's not supposed to, which could be either a software problem or a failure in the power steering motor assembly itself. Realize GM doesn't make very good electronics these days
