Hey everyone!
I'm doing some research for my next car. I'm looking for something I can keep for a very long time, possibly 200k miles. I currently own a 2022 Jetta, which is a nice car and drives well, but I know it won't last; the warranty is over in 2025, so I'd like to make a good choice now. I've noticed that newer cars have turbos, lots of screens, and technology, which can make them more prone to failure. So I'm looking for something reliable, well-built, and, if possible, a bit sporty (though that's not a must).
Here are my options. If you have any better suggestions, please let me know:
For an SUV:
- Acura RDX V6 3.5 2nd Gen (2013-2018). Are the 2019-present models reliable with the current 2.0 Turbo?
- Toyota Highlander 4th Gen (2020-present). I assume the V6 3.5 is the more reliable option?
- Toyota Sequoia 2nd Gen (any year you recommend?). Is the V8 5.7 the better choice here?
For a Sedan:
- Lexus ES350 or Acura TLX. Both look pretty good in their current generation. I just want to know if the turbos are reliable or if I should stick with the previous generation.
