Hi Scotty,

I was checking out this website carfromjapan.com - they have a ton of cars that seem like good deals.  What do you think?  I know low mileage cars are commonly exported out of Japan.  Are they worth working with??

"read the testimonials" is fairly ambiguous. If I didn't know better I be thinking you trying to post a scam lol. Cause that's what all them scams say.

If you trying to get one there was recently a controversy (s) on importing used cars like skylines and such just from Japan, they all go through more or less the same grading system and hub even if done in by different dealers, brokers, and websites. While I'd rather be safe and go the dealer route with the car being taken care of before I purchase it like any other car, I've seen some reviews on Reddit saying that the site is pretty alright though you have to dig for some important information cause it's a lot in poorly trasnlated engrish.

"Testimonials" mean nothing and are one of the favorite tools of hucksters and confidence tricksters. There is no way to verify them.

In the U.S. a non-compliant car from overseas has to be at least 25 years old to be legally imported. You'd be getting a car with no support in this country. Parts and service will be a headache. Those cars are set up to drive on the wrong side of the road.

All-in-all it's a very bad deal for anyone looking for good reliable transportation. My advice would be to stay away.

Scam, and obvious.

for most people, nope. Stay away.

Most are not legally able to be imported into the US unless they're minimum 25 yrs old. Then it gets cost prohibitive to get them here. The good luck trying to register it in whatever state you live in since those cars won't be in their database.

If you're in the U.S., for starters a car not compliant with emissions and safety regulations needs to be at least 25 years old to be imported.

They are not cheap. Those ones that you think are cheap, either too old or those microcars that you have a hard time finding parts for them since they are only sold in Japan.

Interesting to know that you can get a car directly from a port delivery. There are good testimonials.

Cheaply priced, port delivery fee is just as much or more in some cases.
