Hey Scotty I have a 2011 chevy Malibu 2.4L automatic with 220,000 miles. At first when I went to start my car I would have to hold the gas in to the floor to start it. It’s been a few weeks since this started and I’ve replaced the air filter, spark plugs, maf sensor, throttle body, used gum out, and checked for vacuum leaks. I can’t figure out how to fix it. But now I usually don’t need to hit the gas but it’ll still start rough and idles really rough right after starting it. The lights on my car also dim and brighten but only when it idles rough. Any ideas? I’m gonna be scanning it for codes and testing the charging system as soon as my scanner comes in the mail. Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I also think the transmission might be going out if it does should I replace it I don’t know if it’s worth it the car has 220,000 but the engine has been replaced and only has 130,000 mild

Please don’t double post, thanks.

Take it to a major auto parts store for a free scan and get them to load test your alternator while they're at it.
