2009 Hyundai sonata V6 won't start until some gas is thrown on the throttle body, this happens only in the mornings, and when it does start in the morning it hiccups for the first second at start up and then runs, if I shut it off and try to restart again then it starts but still takes like 3-4 seconds of cranking, and when being driven it hiccups like once every 10 mins or so, seems it's being starved of fuel or something, everything else works fine. I had changed the fuel pump and filter but another mechanic wanted to do the same again so I just told myself this can't be it, they were changed and issue wasn't fixed, I appreciate your advice.
Well you're not getting fuel into the engine. It doesn't mean the pump isn't working. If you've changed that it should be okay. I would say check the wiring to the pump to make sure the pump is getting off electricity and two see if the fuel injectors are even firing. If they are not firing then you would have a problem in the electronics to the fuel injection system. I would start there
Thank you, I'll have that checked at a mechanic's tomorrow
