Do you have any suggestions for cars under 8k ? I'm a student and a bit tight on budget. I'm 6'7 tall and looking for something that would last me for a long while. Please do mention the year with car model and maximum miles that should be on it while buying.

So basically a good used Honda or Toyota; Camry, Civic, Corolla, Rav4, Tacoma etc. are all good cars. As far as mileage no one can say X miles is the limit because it's a combination of mileage and how good the car has been taken care of. If you want it to last a while then tentatively nothing over 100k miles. And always have a trusted independent mechanic check it out before purchasing. Also, avoid dealerships and used car lots because it's more expensive buying from them.

As for years once you decide on a car/find one you can search this forum regarding years to avoid.

This link is another good resource:

Is it possible to get Camry or Highlander, will get under 10k. It's impossible in current market to find a camry or highlander with less than 100k miles for this price. If possible then which year model will be reliable ? Also are rebuilt title cars good to buy ? And is awd in highlander good choice or should I only look for fwd as per Scotty ?

If you don't need awd then no need to buy awd. Awd isn't bad but it means more expensive repairs in case issues arise.
As far as model year I provided a link with a lot of information from Scotty; when you find something in your price range then check that link and decide. Also carcomplaints is another place to look to learn about model years.
That 100k miles was a tentative mileage; like I said it depends on how well the car has been taken care of and how long you want to keep it and how much driving you have.
And no, don't buy rebuilt title; only clean title.

Well a large SUV or Truck can fit most comfortably for taller drivers but on cars it's a bit questionable. You can try to sit inside the car and see if you can fit comfortably. Any Toyota or Honda can last a long time if taken care or maybe an older American large truck/SUV can be ok.
