I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 with 130,000 miles and a 2010 Buick Lucerne flex fuel v6 with 130,000 miles. Can I change the fluid in these? I plan to do it myself.
Clarification: When was the last time the fluid was changed? What is the condition of the fluid now? Does it smell burnt, what color is the fluid, or have any particles embedded in them?

Scotty says not to change transmission fluid in older cars. Mine are older, but do they have too many miles for me to change the fluid?
