Changing Just the Fuel Filter on a Newer Toyota?

Is it even possible to change just the fuel filter on the newer Toyota models, like the Yaris?

When I asked them about this as the dealership service center, they acted like it was some insane idea, and said that an entire assembly inside the gas tank had to be changed, and the part alone was almost $200.

So is it possible to change just the filter?  If so, where do I get just the filter part?

Thanks in advance.

There is no filter on the Yaris (I own one), that I'm aware of. Just the fuel pump strainer which is attached to the bottom of the fuel pump.

So do you mean I can/should somehow clean that strainer, then?  If so, do you know how?

Honestly if you're gonna go through the whole hassle of doing that you might as well replace the pump. It's up to you. I personally think it's overkill. I wouldn't bother.
