2001 chevy express 3500 5.7 van, I have a throttle potion sensor issue and I tried alot of senors but they didn't work, and when I switch gears the van jerks
I'm going to ask you the same questions I did when you posted this 2 days ago ....
- How many miles on the van? Do you have any trouble codes? (this was in the instructions you were shown, twice).
- what is the sensor "issue"? Please describe in more detail.
- what do you mean by "didn't work"? What happens exactly?
Since changing the sensor didn't change anything. You probably need to look at something else.
when I switch gears the van jerks
Did you check the transmission fluid level? Condition? When is the last time the fluid & filter was changed?
I bought the van a year ago, i trie to maintain it and change the Fluids its a 2001 chevy express 3500 5.7 v8, with 160,000 had a P0122 (TPS Throttle position sensor ) issue I put a new sensor on and this time I erased the code and ran it and tested it and I worked, what I didn't do was was test it and erase the code last time, it has no check engine light after today, but I feel like the transmission jerks a little when I switch gears, i do have horrible brakes. I have no changed the transmission fluid bc im scared that who ever had it before me didn't take care of the van and never change the transmission fluid, I put a new spark plugs, new wires I need to put a new distributor, has new filter, new coolant, new water pump, new altinator and nee battery, I want this van to work as it should and for me to but it in its best condition.
I have no changed the transmission fluid
you need to get that old filter out of there now before you starve the transmission. You can save the old fluid just in case if you have to, but if it hasn't started slipping yet, and not full of grit then it's probably OK to replace the fluid too.
when I switch gears the van jerks
you mean it only jerks when you manually select a mode with the lever, or it jerks when it's shifting automatically?
Only when I manually switch gears, I drove it today in the highway to see if any slippage was accruing, but
switches gears just fine but I can't really tell when I'm going in high speed like 70 and up because of the noise of the air and a lot of bumps on the road
