Thinking about buying a Chevrolet Avalanche. Opinions and thoughts?
Literally the same as the chevy silverados and gmc 1500s so the parts for the mechanical components are readily available and not too hard to repair. Body panels are expensive though as many are getting hard to find over the years. The worst thing about these are the rear differentials and the electrical issues. You can google either of these and find the common results. Not too bad thought if you can get one for a reasonable price.
People love them here in Texas. I've seen some up there in the 200k mile range. My personal pet peeve with them is all the black plastic that fades after spending time in the Texas sun. Really makes it look bad.
No real qualms though. Parts are everywhere, easy to work on when it does go wrong. Eeehhh. You could do worse.
