I don't want to Irresponsible while driving it, it's been my dream car since I was in high School and I'm 24 now, Also Do Camaro SS's only have V8 engines?

Which model year or years?

fifth or sixth generation

Camaro SS models are all V8's. Depending on the year, it is either the 5.7L LS1 (1998-2002), the 6.2L LS3 (2010+ manual trans) or the 6.2L L99 (2010+ automatic trans).

None of which are suitable for a 24 year old driver. Have you priced insurance? If it is a 2010 or newer it's going to be insane.

As someone who has been there done that, stay out of the street racing scene. It isn't all fun and games...people get killed, and not just in car accidents. There are a lot of shady people and shady things that happen in that arena. Listen to @mountainmanjoe and look up a track near you. Safe environment, emergency crews, no risking arrest....literally there is no downside. Around here you can get in for like $20 and run all day if you want as long as you have a helmet. Faster cars require additional safety items but a fire extinguisher and a helmet is plenty for a stock Camaro SS to go down the track.

If you are looking at 2010+ Camaros, you'll see things like 1SS and 2SS. There is no difference in power. The 2SS is just the feature-rich trim level and the most common. Prices of the cars have come down to reasonable levels, but daily driving it is going to cost you in gas and insurance. Those cars drink fuel like you would not believe.

I get having a dream car. But check the expenses related to owning one and make sure you don't go "car poor" and have all your money tied up in it. Also make sure you can control yourself and not wrap it around a pole trying to impress people that don't care at all.

Please don't have "have fun" on public streets. Go to a race track and get it out of your system there.

'SS' are performance designs, so they're probably V8. But @mod_man knows more about that.

"Having fun" would be disrespectful to some, bad driving to some, diluted logic to sum, just playing around for some, and irresponsible to some. No matter what, be safe!

I'm pretty sure they only come with V8s. As mentioned above, price out your insurance and gas prices, they might be in the back of your mind now, but they will become a major expense.

Camaro SS have only come with a V8...Camaro's non SS have come with a V6 for a long time, which is more than enough HP for a young driver, and the latest generation also come with a 4-cyl turbo. I would go the V6 route instead of getting the SS. At 24, it'll be cheaper to insure, and cheaper to run (gas, maintenance, tires etc..). You can have fun at a track (drag strip or road course), but don't have fun on public streets.

Yeah man, and I didn't mention this in the first place but, if not the SS, I'd still be fine with the V6 engine like you said, and stick with like an LT, those ones are nice to
