Greetings and salutations to you Scotty.
I’m chiming in regards to my recent purchase of a timing belt coupled with the water pump from China? Was this a prudent move on my part. I know your very ambivalent when it comes to China products.

but I do recall you specifically saying that some things are ok to buy? But as far technology THATS A BIG NO NO! Can you please Edify me ASAP. The price differential REALLY PERTURB ME. It was only like 30 bucks for the whole set respectfully.
P.s I’ll also furnish you with part number

just in case it aids you in pinpointing a good product or not. TCKWP334

I don't think it is a good idea to buy timing belt from China. I would rather pay more and buy OEM since you are dealing with engine performance.

Sometimes the OEM and name-brand parts are made in China these days. I'd say though if you paid $30 for the belt plus pump there is 100% chance they are no-name knockoffs that will fail quickly.

So you bought a knock off. For 30 bucks? Nah fam. This ain't a RC car you fixing here. If it's wayyy to cheap, then it probably is not the best idea. You have a VW,Audi? Especially for euro cars...

It depends if it's a well known name brand from a big chain store. It wouldn't be my top choice, but it might be ok.

If it has a name like Hangzhou, "Maximum Performance", or no name at all, and it's from eBay or Aliexpress then definitely no.

Linglong, Triangle, Zhengxin, Zhongce among many others.

or if it says "Made in Chian"
