  • Hey Scotty, I drive a 2005 Ford Escape 2.3L, automatic transmission, 2WD with 194,000 miles. Whenever I drive or have my car running idle, a weird churning noise can be heard. I’ve looked and notice that it’s coming from the drive belt but not exactly sure how to diagnose exactly what part I need to replace. Please help, thank you.

Well get a stethoscope and listen to you fine with the noises allowed you can usually pinpoint it but if not remove the fan belts then spin everything by hand and see where the bad bearing is

Does it get louder/worse when you turn your AC on/off? Or when you turn the wheel from lock to lock?
