Hi Scotty! I'm your fan and viewer from Pakistan. Following you since years great content! I have a 2003 Civic M/T. My short ram air intake's filter was in bad shape so i decided to change it and also clean the throttle body. I started the car and put a brick on the accelerator pedal and engine RPM was around 3000. Spray carburetor cleaner directly in the throttle body and the hole where IAC valve is. Thr sensor which comes installed on air cleaner box was disconnected while doing the process. After doing this turned the car off and installed everything back. No check engine light but now my car idles bad. Rough idle and running extremely rich. Disconnected the negative terminal twice to do the relearn process but no gain. Would be really helpful if you answer my question in your video and do let me know in which video. Many thanks!
Maybe the egr valve? take a look at that possibly?
Never, ever use carburettor cleaner on a fuel injection engine. Did you read the can? Carb cleaner is designed to leave a film of oil. You probably fouled up your sensors, and now you need to clean or replace them.
I disconnected the negative cable overnight and in the morning conntected it and let the car idle it was way better. Drove it around and then in afternoon disconnected the negative cable cable again and hooked it up back in night and let it relearn. As good as new thankful now idling fine. When it went bonkers earlier i noticed excessive about of black liquid on the floor where the exhaust is. The cleaner made it run extremely rich don't know why and messed it up. BTW where to contact if you want Scotty to directly answer to a question in his video?
A 2003 Civic in Pakistan doesn't has a EGR valve secondly i used a throttle cleaner not a carb one. The throttle cleaner leaves everything bone dry.
