Hello everyone,
Car info: Renault 11, 1985, manual gearbox, clutch is fully mechanical.
Summary:
-new LuK clutch kit installed 10k kms ago
-flywheel has never been resurfaced
-a tiny amount of engine oil once leaked through the crankshaft position sensor from a cam cover leak probably 4k kms ago
Now when the engine is cold the clutch grabs great in any gear, in any rpm, in any throttle input - I tested that extensively. But after the engine stays at operating temperature for about 5-10 minutes it starts slipping when I push it hard after 3k rpm especially 3rd,4th & 5th gear, Max torque of the engine is at 3250rpm.
I'm suspecting that oil leak but the car feels great when it hasnt reached op temp. Maybe the surface oil has burned off but the pores of the clutch are filled? Or the flywheel needs to be resurfaced/the clutch kit is defective? Maybe the auto adjust mechanism?
What is the auto adjust mechanism??? Make sure the manual adjustments are correct, ie, pedal height, engagement point, etc. Any oil from anywhere (rear main seal, input shaft seal, cam position sensor, etc.) getting on the clutch disc, pressure plate or flywheel is going to cause slippage if not outright failure. Once the clutch disc is contaminated, it has to be replaced.
