Hi Scotty,
I love your channel. I have a 2004 Nissan 350z with a manual 6 speed transmission.
You can shift the gears but it goes no where, doesn't move at all.
History: I had a bad battery clamp. My daughter who likes to fix things changed it for me. After changing it my car wouldn't start. To make a long story short, I had the battery check it was good. So tighten down clamps better and jump started and it started. When I put it in reverse it was like it had barely any power. I searched the net and found out sometimes you have to reset to factory settings the computer. I followed directions and it worked perfectly, the car started right up, tried a few times to make sure. Was going to take it for a ride put it in 1st gear the car went no where. Tried the lower gears still the clutch didn't engage. (BTW trunk won't open now from the back latch either) the reason I mentioned this is because I'm not sure if my slave cylinder went out or if my car is in limp mode. I had never heard of limp mode but apparently it can disable the car. Can you please help? I don't have a lot of money to tow it to a shop. Thanks in advance and please keep posting!
It's either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder that has failed. Fortunately, the slave cylinder is external on your car and easily replaceable.
Thanks!
