Hey scotty I have a really reliable 02 corolla 171k miles manuel transmission runs like a beast. I want to put a cold air intake in it. Good idea or not.

I wouldn’t do it. It’s a commuter those things just go and go. Waste of money in my opinion.

Don't do it, it is a really bad idea.

Do you have any reason why? If you were going to start modding the car with a supercharger or something and the stock airbox took too much room then sure. But time and time again cold air intake by itself does absolutely nothing or even worse than stock sometimes.

Useless unless you plan to add further mods and tune the vehicle.

Most are junk as the way they're designed, don't separate the filter from the engine bay good enough, so you're not going to get cold air intake, but a hot air intake. Which defeats the purpose, except your wallet is a little lighter.
