I have a 2013 Ford Expedition. 99,000 miles. It has rear cooling/heat and calls for motorcraft orange. I have a supply of g05 zerex HOAT coolant I bought for a 2004 dodge. it says compatible for ford 2003-2012. Can I use this coolant in my new ford? I'm learning about this stuff and just wanna be 100% sure. Thanks!

Your manual will tell you what kind of coolant you can use.

Usually they same something like “use Genuine OEM”. But then afterwards, list the types of compatible coolant.

my manual says to use motorcraft orange. I guess what I have is incompatible.

Yes.

Three years ago I asked myself a similar question - whether or not I can (for the sake of unification with my other car) feed one of my cars with a more modern coolant it was not originally designed for. I took my time to study and compare the tech specs, and came to the following conclusion:

Basically (and imo strangely enough), the only practically relevant technical difference between various coolant types / generations is the following: older generations have less longevity (have to be replaced relatively frequently), but if changed on-time are offering significantly better protection to the cooling systems internals. Modern generations last two or three times longer, but are not that focused on safeguarding the cooling system itself.

So I personally decided to switch to using the more modern coolant type - like I said, for the sake of unification. As of now, I noticed neither any difference nor any negative consequences of using the coolant my vehicle was not designed for.
