I have 2015 Dodge Charger Se 3.6l RWD automatic How do you know if you radiator is clogged? Is lower radiator hose suppose to be cold or hot? And why is my upper radiator hose has pressure build up in it? Why is coolant is backed up in the overflow tank and spilling out the overflow hose? And why my car overheating after about 45 minutes of driving?
One way to detect a radiator clog is to check temperature across its face, there should be no cold spots. An infrared thermometer is handy for this.
Sounds like you have issues with the thermostat and the radiator cap. I would replace them, get new coolant (6 years old) and make sure all the air is purged from the system when it's changed out.
I've changed the cap as well as the thermostat like 5 times and it didn't work
I agree with @doc and would just add to flush the cooling system as well. Doing that should reveal a serious clog. The lower hose is normally cooler that the upper hose. The upper hose carries the hot coolant from the engine to the radiator. The lower hose carries the "cooled" coolant from the radiator to the engine. It should be warm but not cold. Good luck.
Ok thans I've had it flush a few times and still having problems
You could try running water from your garden hose through it.
If the thermostat and cap are known good, last thing is the water pump. Unless someone has put a chemical sealer into the system without your knowing it. And doing that can screw up your radiator and heater core.
