Corolla or Civic? Transmission and overall

Hi,

I'm looking to buy either a 2011-2013 or 2015-2016 Corolla. Or I am looking for a 2009-2011 or 2016-2017 Civic.

The different years are because I'm going to either spend around $10 000 for the older models or $15000 for the newer ones. Just not too sure yet.

I was wondering which car is better? I have been told Toyota Corolla but I like the look of the civic. But, is the corolla world's better? Or about the same?

I want the 2.0 L civic, non turbo. Automatic for both cars. I'm just concerned about the transmission for the civic. I know Toyota has CVT as well but apparently they never stop working. Help please.

A 2007-2011 years of Civic's are the most reliable. Corolla's are also reliable but the 2009-2014 years had horrendous quality and lot's of recalls. I would say years of Civic's to check out are 2009-2011, 2013-2015. And the years for the Corolla would be best in 2005-2008, 2015-2019.

I would only consider the 2016+ Civic's with the 2.0 engines NOT the 1.5 Turbo which has oil dellusion issues.

The older gens (2010 2011 ones) should not cost 10 grand even here in California they are no more than 7 8 thousand dollars.

I would buy the civic since it is the one that you really want and never look back.

There is a new redesigned Civic coming out next year.

Don't rule out getting a good deal on a brand new 2020 after the 2021's show up.

Especially, if you are financing.  The rates should stay very low.
