Cruise control switch

My cruise control switch on my 2011 Toyota Camry is broken and I want to replace it as soon as possible. Since I have to remove the air bag, is it best to disconnect both battery terminals? What would be the safest way to do this procedure? Thank you.

  • Yes, remove the battery cables. I would also pull the fuse for the airbag

For good measure, once you disconnect the battery, turn your headlights on to drain any possible residual current.

If you follow Scotty's advice on pulling the fuse you should be safe. I don't mess around when it comes to airbags though, better extra safe than sorry.
