I'm told I have a bent front passenger-side strut on my 2014 Yaris that needs replacing, and that both front struts should actually be replaced at the same time. So here are my questions:
1) Is this something I can do myself? Should I?
2) Can I replace just the damaged strut one week and then do the other side the next week?
3) Finally, can driving with a damaged strut like this cause damage to other parts like my transmission? Because I felt a significant single shudder the other day at a stop light.
Thanks for your help in advance.
What's dangerous to drive that way but you can replace just one and see how it goes watch my video how to replace suspension struts Scotty
Yes, it certainly can. The thing is that suspension job is cheap but the transmission fix is not.
But could it damage my transmission somehow?
Can a damaged suspension damage the transmission?
Can driving on a damaged strut cause damage to a transmission? If so, how?
Thanks in advance?
Can you give some more details on how badly damaged? Also, what make model, mileage, the more info the better.
I'm told it has a bent strut, and it's a 2014 Yaris
